Rams golf team takes third place at Kangaroo Spring Classic- March 3, 2005 |

The Mineral Wells Rams Golf team posted a team total of 329 and finished in third place in the Kangaroo Spring Classic Tournament on Tuestay at Brock's Sugar Tree golf course. Rams coach Tommy Fincher said his team is ready for this week's district tournament. "I was very proud of the varsity boys golf team for finishing in third place," Fincher said. |
Rams take second place at Ram Classic golf tourney By Craig Holamon Index Sports Editor The Mineral Wells Rams varsity golf team recorded a team total of 333 and finished in second place in the Ram Classic Golf Tournament on Monday at Holiday Hills Country Club.The Mineral Wells JV posted a total of 371 and won the boys JV division championship, according to Mineral Wells golf coach Tommy Fincher.Justin Branch carded a 78 and finished in third place in the medalist standings and took the tournament's low junior boy award.Shane Lemons shot a 79 and Jon Kennedy came in at 85 while Zack Beasley had a 91 and Blain Cain carded a 93 for the Mineral Wells varsity.The Jacksboro Tigers won the varsity boys division with a team total of 321 while the Breckenridge Buckaroos took third place with a team score of 351.The Rams JV finished 13 strokes ahead of the second place team from Jacksboro.Bobby Gonzales had a round of 85 and finished in first place in the medalist standings while John Uptergrove shot a 91 and took third place.Amanda Rincon carded a 104, won the varsity girls division low freshman girl award.Haley Garrett came in at 107 while Jackie Berrier rounded out the Mineral Wells totals with a round of 116.Breckenridge won the varsity girls division with a team total of 354. Notes ... The Mineral Wells varsity boys golf team is set for tournament play at Brock's Sugar Tree golf course on Tuesday while the Rams JV team is scheduled to visit Fort Worth Meadowbrook Country Club for tournament play on March 30. The District 6-4A golf tourney is scheduled April 5-6 at Glen Rose's Squaw Valley golf course. The following is a division-by-division look at the results: Varsity Boys Team standings: 1.
